This is a nod to the idea fleshed out in The Rebel by Albert Camus (1951), that rebellion is inseparable from human nature. To exist is to rebel, first against the human condition and then against established orders undermining freedom. Because rebellion is a search for some positive value amongst struggle, it implies an affirmation of existence. Rebellion should then be understood as a celebration of existence, a way of affirming our individuality.
